Dr. George Bonas, CeRISS’s Managing Director took part as senior expert in the Matchmaking Tour to China organized for the launching of the ENRICH-China initiative, visiting the cities of Beijing, Chengdu and Qingdao in October 2017.

The Machmaking Tour to China provided the opportunity to the participants (business networks, technology and science institutes, universities and similar organisations interested in the EU – China cooperation) to attend the 12^th EU-China Business and Technology Fair, to participate in matchmaking events involving hundreds of Chinese technology based companies and research institutes, as well as to meet with Chinese innovators to get first-hand information about the Chinese innovation ecosystem.

During the tour the ENRICH initiative (European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs) was launched in China. ENRICH-China will promote European Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) interests in China by connecting and supporting European researchers and entrepreneurs aiming to extend their activities in China. ENRICH will provide support services (networking, advice, training) in technology-related fields to European researchers and entrepreneurs in China.

ENRICH is an EU’s H2020 project coordinated by SPI (Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação), while EBN (European Business Network) is among the main partners.  Both institutions are CeRISS’s partners in the EaP PLUS project.

ENRICH-China will be present in Beijing and Chengdu. In Chengdu ENRICH will be hosted in the Business & Innovation Centre for China – Europe Cooperation (CCEC). During the tour, CeRISS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CCEC allowing a closer cooperation in the fields of Innovation and Technology.
