The European Commission (DG RTD & DG DEVCO) and the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) organized an Information Day at the AAS headquarters in Nairobi/Kenya on 20 March 2019, at the occasion of the visit of the President of ERC Prof. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon in Kenya.

During that event, the ERC activities were presented by the ERC President, while European Commission officials talked about the “EU-Africa scientific cooperation, successes and challenges”, with focus on H2020 and on the forthcoming Framework Programme ‘Horizon-Europe’.

The event included an overall presentation of H2020 by Dr. George Bonas (Managing Director of CeRISS), with specific focus on the modalities for participation in the last open and forthcoming calls for proposals that could be of interest to the African Academy of Sciences and to researchers in the country.
