Dr. Yasemin KOC
Over 10 years of professional experience in science, technology and innovation analysis in the academic, private and public sectors. Extensive international field experience in capacity strengthening, public outreach (science communication), policy formulation, program development and management, monitoring and evaluation in science, technology and innovation projects. Comprehensive science policy analysis in European, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries (with focus on Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE).
Having lead operational merger processes in the banking sector (JP Morgan Chase), Dr Yasemin Koc joined the British Council as advisor for science communication and innovation. Outstanding relationship building, partnership development and income generation have been her strongest assets in this role.
Drawing on her deep expertise in leading a Nanotechnology research team (20 peers) at Imperial College, Mrs. Koc has supported and helped lead projects focusing on new technologies in developing countries.
Recent assignments have included a secondment to the Gulf Region (Qatar), tasked to analyze the research landscape in the Gulf countries. In addition to monitoring, evaluation and drawing up recommendations, Mrs. Koc is also focused on the identification of new partnerships and projects.
