International Advocacy for the Strategic Alignment of MSCA Cooperation Mechanisms in Key Partner Countries and Regions

Tue, 28/06/2022

The MSCA Advocacy project has been recently launched with the aim to support the strategic alignment of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Cooperation Mechanisms of key countries and regions with the European Commission’s Global Approach to Research and Innovation.

The targeted key countries are Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, India, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland, Tunisia, Ukraine and the United States.

At the regional level, the project focuses on the dialogue with the African Union, ASEAN, LAC, Mediterranean, Eastern Partnership and the Western Balkans countries.

The primary aim is the improved synchronization of the MSCA measures with the individual support programs in the targeted countries and regions. Specifically, country and region specific policy briefs, train-the-trainer workshops and tailor-made MSCA promotion plans are being developed for this purpose under the project.

The MSCA Advocacy project is coordinated by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and will be running till April 2025.

CeRISS participates as a project partner and is responsible among others for the preparation of recommendations for MSCA strategic promotion, based on the intelligence that will be developed throughout the project’s lifetime. CeRISS is also serving as a project contact point for the Eastern Partnership countries.

The project’s kick-off meeting successfully took place in Brussels (14-15 June 2022) where the consortium fine-tuned on the next steps and activities, as well as meet with representatives of the European Commission.
