Workshop on ''EU - Kazakhstan Cooperation in Research, Innovation & Investment'', London, 24 February 2015

Under the support of the IncoNet Central Asia Project, the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized in cooperation with the National Coordinator of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020" in Kazakhstan and NATD, a workshop on "EU - Kazakhstan Cooperation in Research, Innovation & Investment" on 24 February 2015, in London.

This ad-hoc event took place at the margins of the participation of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan at the Global Law Summit in London, UK. The main objective of the workshop was to discuss the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of research, technological development and innovation. Particular attention was paid to attracting investment in innovative development of the industry of Kazakhstan, as well as joint participation in innovation and technology programs on both sides, e.g. “Horizon 2020”and the Kazakh Technology Targeted Programmes.

The IncoNet CA Project was represented by the Scientific Coordinator, Dr G. Bonas and other consortium partners (IPPT-PAN, ZSI, DLR, InExCB-Kz, NATD). The event was attended among others by the Minister for Investment and Development of the Kazak Republic, Mr Asset Issekeshev; the Head of Unit, Strategy, EFTA and enlargement countries, Russia Asia and Pacific, of the DG Research, European Commission, Mr Konstantinos Glinos; the ex-Member of the European Parliament, Mr Struan Stevenson; and the National coordinator H2020-NCP-KZ, Mrs Kamila Magzieva.
