Prof. Réfaat CHAABOUNI

Prof. Réfaat CHAABOUNI is an Innovation Strategy and Innovation Policy expert with several policy making assignments during his career (Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Tunisia; Secretary of State for Scientific Research; Director of Foresight, Planning and Evaluation at the Prime Minister’s Office; etc.).

At international level he has been member of the Standing Committee for Science and Technology, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa; of the Standing Committee for the Mediterranean, Institute for Scientific and Technological Foresight, Joint Research Centre, European Commission; of the Euro-Mediterranean Standing Committee for Information Society; etc.

Prof. Chaabouni obtained his Doctorat d’Etat degree in Lyon/France, in the field of Chemistry, while his recent teaching activities include courses on Innovation at the National School of Engineering in Tunis (ENIT) and at the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain.
